Customer Checklist

Checklist

When renting a vehicle there are a few things that each customer must bear in mind.

What are your exact requirements?
It is wise to always keep in mind what you will be using the rental vehicle for, for example if you will be traveling long distances it is recommended to rent a Group B vehicle that has power steering, aircon and ABS brakes or you might want to consider a Group C vehicle (Automatic).
If you are traveling locally one might consider renting a Group A vehicle (our smaller vehicles).
The size of the vehicle can also be a factor when renting a vehicle, if you traveling with a lot of luggage with the whole family it is advisable to look at renting our larger vehicles such as the Group J (Suzuki Ertiga or similar).
Will you need to take the vehicle across the border/ one-way drop off?
Should you require to drive across the South African border, Top Notch does allow our vehicles to cross the borders of Namibia, Botswana, Lesotho, Swaziland, Zimbabwe and Mozambique. In the event you would like to take our vehicles across South African borders please ensure to specify this when booking the vehicle so that Top Notch staff can ensure that all the necessary paperwork is ready when Top Notch hands the vehicle over to you.
Should you require a one-way rental please ensure that Top Notch staff is aware of this when booking the vehicle.
Do you have all the necessary requirements in order to rent a vehicle?
At Top Notch Car rental we will require credit card information to secure your booking, however, should you not have a credit card we will always try to make an alternative arrangement with our clients.
In order to rent a vehicle with Top Notch the driver will need to be over the age of 23 years and under the age of 70 years.
International clients must ensure that they have their IDP (International Drivers Permit) should the license not be in English.
In order to rent a Group Y (14 Seater) vehicle you will require a Code 10 as well as PDP license.

Another important factor that Top Notch staff need to be aware of when doing a booking is whether the credit card is a Chip & Pin card and if the card is embossed or not.
